Delta Foods Thanjavur (DFT) is a farmer centric and consumer focused initiative promoted by richly experienced professionals intended to establish agro and food processing venture, benefitting the composite districts of Cauvery delta region. the principal agency incorporated under the partnership’s registration Act, will create modern infrastructure with efficient supply chain management from farm gate to retail. The PEA would enable five start-up agro-processing units to operate based on the common infrastructure under one roof.Cluster based approach will build a strong platform for the stakeholders in agriculture and food sectors to strengthen the supply and value chains effectively from FARM to FORK. In addition, any aspiring producer, processor, trader, FPOs and SHGs could utilise the common facility at the cluster campus on nominal rent and sell their products when they could fetch a better price. This project of significance in growth of agrarian economy is supported by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY).
